Back again, by popular demand, Grand Day Out was packed with around 400 people at the multi-activity event at our own Westbrook Centre on the Isle of Wight!
The sun blazed down on Westbrook for the return of this ever-popular event. Grand Day Out featured 2 "firsts" - the first major use of the Emmaus Interactive trailers and the first outing for South East Spree's new Gyro Chair! Neil Walker from the South East team said (of the new interactive trailers now permanently based at the Westbrook Centre): "It was great to see the Bible come alive with a 3D presentation on the life and journey of Jesus, I can't wait to try the other ones!"
Grand Day Out also featured shooting, Inflatables, a mini version of Rock School, a great talk from Peter Jeffrey, swimming and low ropes course. Westbrook hired a hovercraft for the day to transport the guests to and from the mainland and all the young people and leaders thoroughly enjoyed the ride across to the Isle of Wight!
South East Events Volunteer, Andy Elphick, said "It was great to see a family atmosphere with groups sitting around eating packed lunches and spending quality time together".
